Volunteer Opportunities

  • GREETER
Greeters are the first faces seen by our guests and members. This position welcomes our parents and assists them in checking in their preschoolers. They also help first-time guests with check-in, direct them to their children's rooms, and answer any questions about the Preschool Ministry.
  • CLASSROOM TEACHER
Classroom teachers lead the classroom. They keep the children on schedule, implement the classroom curriculum, and ensure that the children are safe and well cared for by following the policies of the Preschool Ministry. The most important aspect of this position is building relationships with the preschoolers and their parents. It is the classroom teacher that has the greatest amount of time and influence with the children while they are with us.
  • SERVICE COORDINATOR
This position oversees and serves the volunteers during a single church service. Coordinators build relationships with their volunteers and are the liaisons for the preschool staff and the church service they coordinate. Coordinators serve as a "manager" of sorts, keeping track of attendance, maintaining teacher-to-child ratios in the classrooms, and notifying parents when they are needed during the service.
  • LOGISTICS
There are a number of "behind-the-scenes" tasks that are vital to the success of First Hurst's Preschool Ministry. A few examples include laundry, room restocking, craft preparation, and storage organization. These volunteers have weekday responsibilities and are the silent servants of our minsitry.
