What is MOPS?

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is an international nonprofit organization designed to support and meet the unique needs of mothers and preschoolers (expectant mothers through kindergarten). Our MOPS group is a smart, relevant, and caring network helping moms to be better moms. Mothers and children meet separately, allowing a morning out for moms, who can relax, enjoy a guest speaker, create crafts, and enjoy adult conversation. We have an inviting environment where women can come to build friendships, be encouraged, and gain practical parenting strategies. While the moms are meeting together, our children are lovingly cared for in the MOPPETS program. We all share the desire to be the best moms we can be and we strive to provide a place of support and love. It is our desire that every mom will know that she is a part of God’s bigger purpose, picture, and plan.

MOPS' theme this year is "Momsense:  Bold, Loving, Sensible."  Our topics and discussions equip moms to embrace their mothering instincts and develop their own parenting style while navigating through the myriad of daily mom decisions. Developing a mothering strategy is somewhat like playing a game--and this year's theme is appropriately game-related. Have fun being a mom! Playing games involves being bold and taking risks, loving those in the game with us, and being sensible while figuring our what works and what doesn't. Just like II Timothy 1:7 says, "God doesn't want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible..."

Anywhere we go, God sees, knows, and guides. So we can lead--and love--knowing God will get us through all the hard spots, all our decisions, all our roles, all our times we can't hold open our eyelids, and the times we're bursting with joy. God's hand guides us as we guide our children and as we study together to become better moms, making a better world.

Why Do I Need MOPS?

"There is no more significant group of cultural changers in the world than mothers."
- Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life

MOPS is the place for YOU!
MOPS is dedicated to the message that "mothering matters," and that moms of young children need encouragement during these critical early years. Our MOPS program helps mothers find friendship and acceptance, provides places for real and open connection, and helps each mom experience God's love through relationships and resources.

"Mothers all over the world get tired every day; what matters is that we encourage and help each other in our roles as women and moms."
- Emily, a mother

"I have been granted the greatest gift of all. I am the audience and conductor of our children's life-long concert. While their fingers are merely touching keys and strings, MOPS has taught me the importance of my hands' work. As a mother, my hands are entrusted with God's greatest composition, the formation of a child. Every caress, each wipe, and any touch can create repercussions that will resonate throughout a lifetime."
- Donna, a mother
