BIRTHDAYS
A birthday has been described as an “anniversary of one’s birth, observed only by children.” We humbly disagree. Birthdays are significant milestones–-whether for a preschool child, a high school senior, a middle-aged man, or an 82-year-old widow. That’s why our pastor, Jeff Burnett, calls each member of our church on his or her birthday expressing his best wishes on their special day. He believes the personal touch and the care it demonstrates is time well-invested.

BABIES
Each new baby (and there are a lot of them at First Baptist Hurst) that is dedicated has the meaning of his or her name carefully researched. The origin of the name as well as corresponding scriptures are compiled. On the day of dedication, Pastor Jeff Burnett tenderly carries the child and carefully walks throughout the Worship Center explaining and expressing the significance of the baby’s names and our hopes for the child. The baby’s first Bible is presented to the family, as well as another book that tells of God’s love. Blessings are then prayed over the child and its parents. It’s a special and unique time-–as is each baby. So are you. So is what we offer.

SPECIAL
Special is how you will feel the first time you attend First Baptist Hurst. Many have described that it felt like “home” the moment they walked in the door. Unique is what we’re trying to be. With the advantages of a large congregation (3,000+ members) and the personal attention and care of a small church, we strive to offer the best of both worlds.

The most valuable thing we have in life are relationships. Our relationships with Jesus Christ and with one another are celebrated each week at First Hurst. The birth of your baby and the day of your birth are both significant reasons to rejoice. We would love the opportunity to celebrate with you.

A Birthday – everyone has one.
A Baby – everyone was one.
A loving and personal church – everybody needs one.
