On August 20, 2011, H-E-B ISD Operation Back 2 School will assist elementary children in starting the school year off right!

Our goal is to supply 6,700 children (grades Pre-K - 6th) with a new backpack and basic school supplies. Statistics show that 56% of H-E-B ISD elementary students come from homes that are classified as "economically challenged." The district has classified 876 children as "homeless."

Specifically, First Hurst is challenged with assisting 3,000 children and raising $60,000. How can you assist? You can volunteer, participate as a sponsor of the event, or donate to provide a child with a backpack and supply kit at a cost of only $20.
