What is MOPS?
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is an international nonprofit organization designed to support and meet the unique needs of mothers and preschoolers (expectant mothers through kindergarten). Our MOPS group is a smart, relevant, and caring network helping moms to be better moms. Mothers and children meet separately, allowing a morning out for moms, who can relax, enjoy a guest speaker, create crafts, and enjoy adult conversation. We have an inviting environment where women can come to build friendships, be encouraged, and gain practical parenting strategies. While the moms are meeting together, our children are lovingly cared for in the MOPPETS program. We all share the desire to be the best moms we can be and we strive to provide a place of support and love.

Why Do I Need MOPS?
"There is no more significant group of cultural changers in the world than mothers."
- Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life
MOPS is the place for YOU!
MOPS is dedicated to the message that “mothering matters,” and that moms of young children need encouragement during these critical early years. Our MOPS program helps mothers find friendship and acceptance, provides places for real and open connection, and helps each mom experience God’s love through relationships and resources.
"Mothers all over the world get tired every day; what matters is that we encourage and help each other in our roles as women and moms."
- Emily, a mother
"I have been granted the greatest gift of all. I am the audience and conductor of our children's life-long concert. While their fingers are merely touching keys and strings, MOPS has taught me the importance of my hands' work. As a mother, my hands are entrusted with God's greatest composition, the formation of a child. Every caress, each wipe, and any touch can create repercussions that will resonate throughout a lifetime."
- Donna, a mother

Meeting Policies & Procedures
- Fees
Each monthly meeting incurs a $5 meeting fee. This offsets the costs of childcare, creative activities, and speaker fees. This fee may be paid upfront for the remainder of the year or on a per-meeting basis. MOPS International charges a $20 membership fee per year for each MOPS mom attending at least 2 meetings.
- Childcare Reservations
Childcare will be provided at each meeting, but reservations need to be made each month. Please make reservations by emailing your name, child's name, and child's birth date to mops@firsthurst.com. Reservations need to be made no later than the Wednesday before the Monday meeting, when possible.
- Childcare Requirements
Children may be checked into their rooms beginning at 9:15am. If your child requires the use of a diaper bag, please include a change of clothes and diapers along with a bottle or sippy cup. Please clearly label each item with your child's name. Please notify teachers of any allergies your child may have. Children 12 weeks old and younger are not required to be in childcare and are welcome in the meeting.
- Health Considerations
If your child displays any of the following symptoms, he/she needs to remain home: fever within the last 24 hours, diarrhea, vomiting, heavy nasal congestion, eye discoloration/discharge, or contagious rash. This helps insure that each child, teacher, and mommy stays well.
